3-month contract role with a local authority

Summary

This is a 3-month contract role with a local authority, focusing on delivering high-quality gas maintenance, repair, testing, inspection, and installation services across residential housing stock and corporate properties. The position is crucial for supporting responsive repairs, planned maintenance programs, void property works, and emergency call-outs. The role ensures all tasks are completed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with current gas regulations and health and safety standards.

Responsibilities

  • Perform gas servicing, maintenance, repair, and installation in line with work specifications and operational requirements.
  • Complete responsive repairs, emergency call-outs, planned maintenance, testing, inspections, and void property works.
  • Diagnose faults and conduct repairs on gas appliances, heating systems, and associated equipment.
  • Ensure all work adheres to current Gas Safety Regulations, industry standards, and safe working procedures.
  • Accurately complete certification, inspection reports, and job records using mobile technology and electronic devices.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in gas installations, servicing, maintenance, and repair works.
  • Experience diagnosing and resolving faults on domestic gas appliances and heating systems.
  • Familiarity with health and safety regulations and safe working practices.
  • Proficiency in using handheld devices or digital systems to record and manage work activities.

  • Current Gas Safe Registration.
  • CCN1 Core Gas Safety Qualification.
  • CPA1.
  • CKR1.
  • CENWAT1.
  • MET1.
  • HTR1.
  • Range Cooker Qualification.
  • Unvented Hot Water Qualification.
  • Full UK Driving Licence.
  • Commitment to maintaining professional competency through ongoing training and development.

Additional Information

  • Working hours: 37 hours per week.
  • Pay rate: £30 (umbrella) - £21.88 (PAYE) per hour, flexible for the right candidate.
  • Must hold a valid UK driving licence for site travel.
  • No remote work available.
  • Bi-weekly work schedule.
