Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site Heating Engineer role based in the Manchester Area, United Kingdom. The Heating Engineer will install, service, and repair domestic and light commercial heating systems, including boilers, radiators, and associated controls.
Responsibilities:
- Diagnosing faults
- Performing safety checks
- Conducting routine maintenance
- Ensuring all work complies with relevant regulations and manufacturer specifications
- Attending scheduled and emergency call-outs
- Providing clear explanations of work to customers
- Completing accurate job reports
- Collaborating with the wider plumbing and heating team to deliver reliable, high-quality service

- Strong technical skills in installation, servicing, and repair of gas and central heating systems.
- Ability to diagnose faults, perform preventive maintenance, and follow safety and compliance procedures.
- Effective communication skills, with the ability to explain technical issues clearly and provide excellent customer service.
- Good time management and organizational skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Relevant trade qualifications (e.g., NVQ or City & Guilds in Plumbing or Heating Engineering) and current Gas Safe registration, or eligibility to obtain it.
- Valid UK driving license and willingness to travel within the Manchester area for on-site appointments.
- Experience in domestic heating systems; familiarity with light commercial systems is an advantage.
- Commitment to health and safety, continuous learning, and adherence to non-discriminatory, inclusive workplace practices.
