Job Description

Ready to build your career? We want to hear from you.

As a heavy equipment mechanic working in the Logistics team at Pomerleau, you will be in charge of maintaining and repairing the company's vehicles, equipment, machinery, and other heavy equipment. Supporting our large-scale building and infrastructure construction projects—ranging from $1.5 million to over $1 billion—you will have the opportunity to work on a wide variety of equipment such as hydraulic shovels, tractors, wheel loaders, off-highway trucks, lifting (cranes, etc.), surface and underground drilling, piling, and concreting.

What you will do

  • Inspect equipment operation and examine various machines to detect defects and malfunctions.
  • Adjust equipment and repair or replace defective parts, accessories, or components using hand or power tools.
  • Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic failures using computerized monitoring systems or other diagnostic equipment to determine the scope of required repairs.
  • Test repaired equipment to ensure it is in proper working condition and that repairs meet manufacturer specifications.
  • Prepare inspection certificates following repair and inspection.
  • Clean and lubricate equipment and perform other routine maintenance tasks.
  • Discuss vehicle operation, overall condition, and upcoming repairs with the supervisor.
  • Participate in training related to the acquisition of new equipment and machinery.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
