Role Description
As a Heavy Forklift Engineer at Impact Handling, you will work on-site in Kent in a full-time capacity, focusing on the maintenance, repair, and inspection of heavy-duty forklifts and associated material handling equipment. Day-to-day activities include:
- Diagnosing mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues
- Performing scheduled servicing
- Carrying out corrective repairs to ensure equipment operates safely and efficiently
You will:
- Complete accurate service reports
- Maintain records of work performed
- Liaise with the service team to prioritize jobs and minimize equipment downtime
The role involves:
- Supporting customers and colleagues with technical guidance
- Adhering to all health and safety standards
- Contributing to continuous improvement of service quality and reliability

Qualifications
- Relevant technical qualifications in mechanical, electrical, or hydraulic engineering, or equivalent experience maintaining heavy industrial or material handling equipment.
- Strong troubleshooting abilities, familiarity with diagnostic tools, and a solid understanding of health and safety regulations related to lifting and warehouse operations.
- Ability to read technical manuals and schematics, maintain clear documentation, and communicate effectively with customers and team members.
- Full, clean driving license and flexibility to work on different types of heavy lift trucks; previous experience in forklift service is absolutely essential.
