Based in Manchester and Liverpool, we operate nationwide, supporting construction, infrastructure, and high-profile projects with state-of-the-art equipment and expert teams. As our fleet continues to grow, we're looking for two skilled Heavy Goods Fitters to join our workshop team.

Position Overview

We are seeking experienced and qualified Heavy Goods Fitters to maintain and repair our crane fleet and heavy haulage vehicles. This role is essential to keeping our equipment safe, reliable, and operating at peak performance. You'll work in a well-equipped workshop environment with a skilled team, ensuring all maintenance meets the highest safety and compliance standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Service, maintain, and repair heavy goods vehicles and crane equipment
  • Diagnose and resolve mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical faults
  • Conduct routine inspections and preventative maintenance schedules
  • Ensure all work complies with LOLER, PUWER, and manufacturer specifications
  • Maintain accurate service records and documentation
  • Work closely with our operations team to minimise downtime
  • Respond to breakdown situations when required
  • Represent the company professionally at all times

Qualifications

  • Proven experience as a Heavy Goods Fitter or similar role
  • HGV/LGV mechanical qualification or equivalent
  • Strong diagnostic and problem-solving abilities
  • Knowledge of hydraulic and electrical systems
  • Full UK driving licence
  • Commitment to safety and compliance
  • Good communication skills and a positive, team-oriented attitude
  • Experience with cranes or lifting equipment is highly desirable
  • LOLER/PUWER knowledge preferred
