Heavy Plant Fitter – Oxford
Are you an experienced Heavy Plant Fitter looking to join a well-established plant hire business with a strong reputation, modern equipment, and genuine opportunities to boost your earnings through overtime?
We're looking for a skilled Heavy Plant Fitter to join a busy depot in Oxford, maintaining and repairing a wide range of construction plant and equipment. This is an excellent opportunity for an engineer who enjoys fault finding, carrying out quality repairs, and being part of a supportive team where your expertise is valued.
Whether your background is in heavy plant, construction equipment, agricultural machinery, powered access, forklifts, HGVs, or similar mobile equipment, we'd like to hear from you.

As a Heavy Plant Fitter, you'll be responsible for:
- Servicing, maintaining and repairing a wide range of heavy plant equipment.
- Diagnosing and repairing mechanical, hydraulic and electrical faults.
- Carrying out planned maintenance and inspections.
- Preparing machinery for hire and ensuring equipment is maintained to a high standard.
- Completing job cards and service documentation accurately.
- Working safely while maintaining excellent housekeeping standards.
- Supporting the wider workshop team to minimise equipment downtime.
The Ideal Candidate
You'll ideally have:
- Experience working as a Heavy Plant Fitter, Plant Mechanic, Plant Technician, Workshop Engineer or Service Engineer.
- Strong knowledge of hydraulics, diesel engines, transmissions and electrical systems.
- Experience working on construction plant such as excavators, dumpers, rollers, telehandlers, loading shovels or similar equipment.
- A recognised engineering qualification (NVQ, City & Guilds or equivalent) is advantageous.
- A positive attitude with excellent fault-finding and diagnostic skills.
- A full UK Driving Licence.
