Responsibilities

The Solution Manager will be a key driver of Octave’s business growth, focusing on identifying and securing strategic partnerships and alliances with major industry players. This role is designed for a domain expert capable of demonstrating Octave’s value proposition to large-scale organizations, leading to the establishment of concrete contracts and long-term frame programs, with a particular emphasis on pan-national European corridor projects.

Beyond business development, the Solution Manager plays a vital role in project governance and consultancy. You will ensure the successful integration of our platform by participating in steering boards for won projects and providing high-level advisory services in markets where Octave already holds a significant footprint in heavy rail.

Key Responsibilities

  • Strategic Growth & Alliances: Identify and cultivate relationships with major industry players to build a robust pipeline. Secure frame programs and large-scale contracts through expert-level solution showcasing.
  • Project Governance: Actively participate in steering boards for key projects to ensure the Octave platform is effectively integrated and delivers maximum strategic value to the client.
  • Strategy Optimization: Continuously refine and update engagement strategies for large-scale railway objectives, ensuring alignment with the evolving needs of major industry stakeholders.
  • Advisory & Consultancy: In established heavy rail markets, serve as a senior consultant to strengthen Octave’s position, foster key connections, and drive growth through reference selling.
  • Stakeholder Management: Bridge the communication gap between IT, product development, and business stakeholders, translating market needs into scalable software roadmaps.

Education / Qualifications

Railway Industry Expertise

  • 5+ years of experience in the railway sector with a deep understanding of operational, infrastructure, and regulatory frameworks across European and international markets.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of railway-specific domains: signaling systems, electrification, track inspection, measurement technologies, and condition monitoring.

Geospatial Asset Management & Digital Twin

  • Proven Expertise: Deep experience in Geospatial Asset Management for rail, covering the end-to-end lifecycle of linear and point assets.
  • Technical Design: Strong capability in designing GIS-based asset management solutions, including solution architecture and the definition of business/technical requirements.
  • Digital Transformation: Track record of defining and delivering Digital Twin initiatives and aligning legacy systems with modern business goals.

Network & Market Presence

  • Established Network: A well-developed professional network of infrastructure managers, operators, and industry partners across Europe.
  • Industry Visibility: Active participation in major European railway conferences and exhibitions.

Education & Experience (Preferred)

  • Educational Background: Formal education in Railway Engineering or a related technical discipline is highly advantageous.
  • Octave Ecosystem: Hands-on experience with Octave (formerly Hexagon SIG) products is a significant asset in delivering value within railway operations and geospatial projects.
