Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site Help Desk Technician role based in Gateshead. The Help Desk Technician will serve as a first point of contact for technical issues, responding to user queries via phone, email, and in person, and logging incidents accurately in the ticketing system.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a first point of contact for technical issues.
  • Respond to user queries via phone, email, and in person.
  • Log incidents accurately in the ticketing system.
  • Diagnose and resolve hardware and software problems on desktop computers.
  • Perform basic computer repair tasks.
  • Escalate complex issues to senior technical staff when necessary.
  • Install and configure workstations and peripheral devices.
  • Support operating systems and common business applications.
  • Ensure that users receive clear, courteous, and timely updates on issue resolution.
  • Collaborate closely with colleagues in sales and service to maintain high service standards.
  • Contribute to efficient, reliable technology operations for clients.

Qualifications

  • Strong skills in Desktop Computers, including setup, configuration, and user support.
  • Experience providing Technical Support and Help Desk Support in a business environment.
  • Ability to perform effective Troubleshooting across hardware, software, and network-related issues.
  • Hands-on Computer Repair skills, including basic diagnostics and component replacement.
  • Familiarity with Windows operating systems, common office applications, and basic networking concepts.
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills, with a customer-focused and problem-solving mindset.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple tickets, and work effectively in an on-site team setting.
  • Relevant IT certifications (e.g., CompTIA A+, Network+) or equivalent practical experience are beneficial.
  • Previous experience in a help desk, technical support, or similar role in a technology or services company is an advantage.
