HEOR Analyst

Location: London or Winchester

Hybrid working - minimum 2 days per week in the office, with Tuesday as the team day


In 2020 LCP launched our Health practice, providing analytical and research services for organisations across the life sciences and healthcare industries. Our team brings together clinicians, statisticians, epidemiologists, health economists, bioinformaticians and health data scientists alongside our established actuarial, analytics and technology teams to deliver new solutions to the fundamental challenges in health.

The LCP Health team works across the healthcare and life sciences markets, combining health expertise with innovative approaches from our work in other sectors to tackle leading health issues. This role will sit within the Health Economics and Outcomes Research (HEOR) team.

Examples of the types of projects that you will be working on include:

  • Estimating the cost effectiveness and budget impact of a range of interventions holistically from both patients and health systems perspectives
  • Developing HTA strategies for product launch and commercial success
  • Undertaking literature reviews and meta-analyses
  • Performing desk research to provide insights on appropriate data sources and analytical approaches

Your key responsibilities:

As an Analyst, you will be involved in a diverse range of projects covering both client and non-client work. Your key responsibilities will be to contribute to designing solutions to the complex problems our clients in the healthcare and life sciences industry face through:

  • Health economic modelling: Creating robust, evidence-based economic evaluations to inform healthcare decision-making
  • Evidence synthesis and statistics: Conducting systematic literature reviews and meta-analyses to summarise existing research comprehensively and objectively. Analysing data from clinical trials and real-world sources using a range of statistical methods
  • Health technology assessment: Supporting HTA submission strategy and development
  • Value communications: Helping clients develop training and communication tools tailored to the needs of the end audience (payers, patients, healthcare professionals and policymakers) to optimally convey product value.

Skills, qualifications, experience required:

  • At least one year’s experience in life science consulting in a HEOR role, experience in HTA is desirable
  • A 2:1 degree or better in a numerate or scientific subject. A health-related Masters degree or PhD (e.g., Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering, Health Economics) is desirable
  • An excellent grounding in an analytical field with a desire to apply quantitative skills to solving real-world problems in health
  • Experience working on health economics or statistics projects in a life sciences consultancy
  • Excellent communication skills, an essential part of being a good consultant is to be able to communicate effectively both orally and in written communications
  • Good presentation skills, with the ability to explain complex issues to others
  • Programming experience in R is desirable, as is modelling experience in Microsoft Excel
  • Excellent organisational skills, you are expected to manage your work effectively, initially with help from other team members, to ensure that you complete the work assigned to you efficiently and on time
  • Comfortable working as part of a small dynamic team, and leading on day-to-day project activities
  • Initiative and able to demonstrate creativity in developing original solutions to problems
  • A commitment to producing consistently high quality work which may, from time to time, require working some extra hours
