About The Role

Through innovative teaching, insightful research and inspired partnerships, the Education provision within the Department of Psychology and Education at University of Staffordshire is producing creative, passionate and highly skilled education professionals. We offer a thriving Initial Teacher Education (ITE) portfolio and work closely with a large network of partner schools to provide high-quality placement and mentoring experiences for trainee teachers. These partnerships are central to the success of our provision and play a vital role in ensuring trainees are supported to develop into confident, reflective and effective educators.

We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated ITE Partnership and Mentoring Manager to provide strategic leadership for partnership development, placements and mentoring across our ITE provision. Working closely with schools, mentors and University colleagues, you will lead the development, coordination and quality assurance of practice-based learning opportunities, ensuring they meet the expectations of Ofsted, the Department for Education and the University's quality standards.

The role is pivotal to the continued success of our ITE programmes. You will foster strong relationships with partner schools, oversee the development and delivery of mentor training, support placement planning and quality assurance processes, and contribute to the ongoing enhancement of the trainee experience. You will also play an important role in maintaining compliance with accreditation requirements and supporting continuous improvement across the partnership.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone with experience of teacher education, school partnerships and mentoring to make a significant contribution to the development of future teachers and the continued success of our highly regarded ITE provision.

Main Responsibilities

  • Lead partnership development, placements and mentoring across the ITE partnership.
  • Build and maintain effective relationships with partner schools and key stakeholders.
  • Lead the development and quality assurance of mentor training and support.
  • Coordinate and enhance practice-based learning opportunities for trainee teachers.
  • Support placement planning, monitoring and quality assurance activities.
  • Oversee partnership, placement and trainee data, reporting and accreditation requirements.
  • Represent the Department in relation to ITE partnership, placement and mentoring activities.
