About Here4You
Here4You is Metanoia Institute’s school-based counselling service, which provides a high quality, professional counselling service to young people in London secondary schools and colleges. All counsellors are qualified and members of a professional body.
About Metanoia
Metanoia Institute has provided high-quality training in psychological therapies since 1984. Our offerings include part-time, university-validated undergraduate and postgraduate courses in Counselling, Psychotherapy, and Counselling Psychology. We also offer a unique NHS-funded programme in Psychotherapeutic Counselling, specialised programmes in Creative Writing for Therapeutic Purposes, Adolescent and Schools Counselling, and a Postgraduate Certificate in Higher Education. Our Continuing Professional Development (CPD) courses further support professionals in enhancing their skills and staying up to date with the latest developments in the field.
About This Role
You’ll work with pastoral and other teams at your assigned school, which we expect to be in Hillingdon with an additional opportunity in Ealing. You’ll contribute to the development of the school-based service in this setting alongside the H4Y Schools Counselling Liaison Officer to enable students to enhance their psychological health and personal effectiveness, empowering them to optimise their school/college involvement, and personal development.

This will typically be up to two days, five hours a day, term time, in Hillingdon with additional ad-hoc hours in Ealing. You’d agree with your manager your expected working hours, and these would be paid on a zero-hours basis.
What You'll Need
We're looking for someone with...
- A professional qualification as a counsellor, counselling psychologist or psychotherapist from a UK university or equivalent
- Knowledge and understanding of issues relating to safeguarding children and young people.
- Demonstrable experience of working with children and young people in a mental health setting.
- Ability to work independently as a professional and to liaise appropriately with a variety of different professionals within education and mental health.
- Ability to connect empathically with young people and create a safe environment for exploration.
