Heritage Manager

Posted: 11-09-2026

Our Big Picture believes that everyone has the right to art in their lives. Since 2016, we have grown from a market stall on Grimsby’s Top Town Market into North East Lincolnshire’s first dedicated community Arts and Heritage Hub, working inclusively with our communities so that everyone can shape, take part in, experience and enjoy art and heritage at its best.

The Role

The Heritage Manager is a new post at the heart of OBP’s ambition to become the established Heritage Hub for NE Lincolnshire. This is a strategic and delivery role, one that combines hands-on programme leadership with relationship-building across the regional and national heritage sector.

Working from OBP’s town centre Hub as the physical point of contact for NEL’s heritage sector, the Heritage Manager will lead the Heritage Journey — a peer-to-peer support framework that connects individuals and organisations across NEL with mentoring, project development guidance and sector expertise. They will also lead the Medieval Grimsby research programme, develop OBP’s collections policy, and provide support across all three flagship project strands alongside the CEO and Art Programme Manager.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Only hits

No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.

This is a role for someone who is as comfortable working with community volunteers around a table of archaeological finds as they are presenting to academic partners or supporting a grassroots heritage group to develop their first funding application. It requires the ability to work at pace, breadth, warmth, rigour and genuine enthusiasm for making heritage accessible to everyone.
