Role Description

This is a full-time permanent remote role for an HGV 1 Driver based at our Knowsley site. The HGV 1 Driver will operate heavy goods vehicles to transport goods safely and efficiently between distribution centres, customer locations, and other designated sites. Day-to-day tasks include:

  • Planning routes
  • Performing pre and post trip vehicle inspections
  • Loading and unloading goods when required
  • Ensuring timely deliveries while following company procedures

The driver will maintain accurate delivery records, communicate with dispatch and customers, and comply with all safety standards and applicable transportation regulations. The role also involves:

  • Driving fuel efficiently

Qualifications

  • HGV 1 C+E licence (Essential)
  • Valid CPC Cards (Essential)
  • Valid Driver Card (Essential)
  • Maximum 6 penalty points (No DD, DR, or IN endorsements)
  • Good understanding of tachograph and driver hours regulations
  • Minimum 1 year experience
  • Ensure safe operation of vehicles adhering to company policies and procedures
  • Experience with loading and unloading goods safely, including basic manual handling and securing cargo
  • Ability to work independently, manage routes and schedules, and communicate clearly with dispatch and customers
  • Willingness to follow fuel-efficient and eco-friendly driving techniques in line with company sustainability objectives
