Driver Hire Edinburgh City are currently recruiting experienced HGV Class 1 (C+E) Drivers to join a well-established flour distribution company based in East Lothian.
This is an excellent temp-to-perm opportunity for a reliable and experienced Class 1 driver looking for stable, full-time work with the potential to secure a permanent position.
🚛 The Role
You will be responsible for the safe and efficient transportation of flour to customers and sites across the local area and further afield.
Duties Will Include
- Driving HGV Class 1 vehicles safely and professionally
- Delivering flour to customers and commercial sites
- Loading and unloading goods as required
- Carrying out daily vehicle safety checks
- Ensuring loads are secure and transported safely
- Completing delivery paperwork and records accurately
- Following all relevant transport legislation and company procedures
- Providing a professional service to customers
- Maintaining high standards of health & safety at all times

🕒 Working Hours
- Monday to Friday
- Full-time hours
- Minimum 40 hours per week
- Start times will vary depending on the delivery schedule
- Overtime opportunities available
- Temp-to-perm position for the right candidate
💷 Pay Rates
PAYE
- £15.50 per hour
- £20.66 per hour after 8 hours
PAYE Advanced
- £17.37 per hour
- £23.15 per hour after 8 hours

✅ What We’re Looking For
- Valid UK Class 1 (Category C+E) licence
- Valid Driver CPC qualification
- Valid Digital Tachograph Card
- Previous Class 1 driving experience
- Maximum of 9 penalty points
- No DD, DR, CD or IN endorsements
- Reliable, punctual and professional
- Strong focus on safety and compliance
- Comfortable with the physical requirements of the role
- Good communication and customer service skills
