HGV Class 2 Shunter Driver – Edinburgh
£14.75 per hour | 4 on 4 off | 12-hour shifts
Driver Hire Edinburgh City are currently looking for an experienced HGV Class 2 Driver to join our client in Edinburgh on a 4 on 4 off rota, starting as soon as possible.
This is a shunting role, ideal for someone looking for steady work with minimal manual handling.
The Role
- Shunting vehicles over a short distance between locations
- 12-hour shifts on a 4 on 4 off rota
- Vehicles are loaded and unloaded for you, so there is very little physical work involved
- No long-distance driving
- Working as part of a team and following site procedures
- Opportunity for ongoing work for the right driver

Pay & Hours
- £14.75 per hour
- 12-hour shifts
- 4 days on / 4 days off
Requirements
- Full HGV Class 2 (C) licence
- Minimum 24 years old due to insurance requirements
- Minimum 6 months’ HGV Class 2 driving experience
- Maximum 6 penalty points, with no more than 3 points for any single offence
- No DD, DR, DG, CD or IN endorsements
- Valid CPC and Digital Tachograph Card
- Good understanding of drivers’ hours and road safety
- Reliable, punctual and professional
- Good communication skills
