RH Commercial Vehicles is looking for a skilled HGV Breakdown Technician to join our growing aftersales team.

As a Breakdown Technician, you’ll be responsible for attending roadside and customer-site breakdowns, diagnosing faults and carrying out repairs on a range of commercial vehicles. You’ll be supported by a leading dealer group, receiving ongoing manufacturer training and benefiting from excellent earning potential and genuine career progression opportunities.
Role Details
40 hours a week, Rotating Shift
Shift 1: 08:45 – 17:15
Shift 2: 08:00 – 16:30
Plus out of hours call out
OTE of up to £60,000 + depending on experience and call-out participation
Breakdown call out payments and overtime opportunities

Responsibilities
- Attending roadside and customer site breakdowns across the region
- Diagnosing mechanical, electrical and electronic faults
- Carrying out repairs to return vehicles to service safely efficiently
- Servicing, maintaining and repairing commercial vehicles when required
- Completing work to DVSA and manufacturer standards
- Using diagnostic equipment and mobile workshop systems
- Providing exceptional customer service during breakdown situations
- Maintaining accurate records of work completed
- Keeping up to date with technical developments and manufacturer training

Requirements
- Level 3 qualification in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance, Commercial Vehicle Repair or equivalent
- Previous roadside breakdown experience
- Experience working on commercial vehicles including trucks and vans
- Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills
- Ability to work independently and make informed decisions under pressure
- Full UK driving licence
- Positive attitude and willingness to learn
- Excellent customer service and communication skills
- HGV Licence
- IVR Qualification
- IRTEC accreditation
- Main dealer experience
- Renault Trucks or Isuzu Trucks experience
