About the Role

Driver Hire Colchester are currently recruiting for Class 1 and Class 2 HGV Drivers to join our team.

Variety of work with a variety of clients across the CO postcode; Harwich, Colchester etc. We require drivers to cover busy periods, sickness and holiday.

Immediate start available

Minimum pay of £16.25 – £20.00 p/h for weekday, day shifts

Job Details

  • Start times vary between 04:00 and 07:00 AM.
  • Mainly Monday to Friday Day work, however nights and weekends are available (Higher pay)
  • Variety and flexibility: Trunking, General haulage, Curtain siders, Flat bed, Refrigerated trailers, Builders merchants ETC
  • Local and regional deliveries
  • Completing vehicle checks and ensuring full compliance with tachograph and driving regulations
  • Maintaining a professional and customer-focused approach

Requirements

  • Must have your own transport to travel to and from work.
  • Valid Class 1 (C+E) or Class 2 (Cat C) licence, CPC, and Digital Tachograph Card.
  • No more than 6 penalty points (no DD, DR, or similar endorsements).
  • Must have appropriate PPE, including steel toe cap boots (Hi-Vis provided by Driver Hire).
  • Must be able to work with both paper-based and PDA-based delivery systems.
  • 2 yrs experience preferred but not essential
