About The Role
Location: Widnes Depot
Position: Permanent, Full-Time (Artic Walking Floor)
Earnings: £15.26/hr basic | £19.07/hr Overtime
OTE: £49,590 (Based on an average 58-hour week)

Operating from our Widnes depot, we are currently seeking an experienced HGV Class 1 Driver to join our dedicated team, specialising in Artic (Walking Floor) operations.
Operating from our regional depot, this is a hands-on role for a logistics professional who takes pride in safe driving, vehicle presentation, and delivering exceptional service.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Vehicle Operation: Safely and efficiently operate HGV Class 1 articulated vehicles and Artic Moving Floor / Walking Floor trailers to transport regional waste and recycling materials.
- Shift Pattern: Monday to Friday shift pattern, averaging 58 hours per week, with additional late nights and Saturday shifts available for those looking to maximize their earnings.
- Compliance & Tech: Complete thorough daily walk-around vehicle checks, report defects promptly, and maintain accurate digital tachograph records in line with EU drivers' hours regulations.
- Safety First: Maintain uncompromising safety standards at all times, strictly adhering to transport laws, road regulations, and site safety protocols.
- Customer Service: Act as a professional ambassador for Panda, providing a friendly and dependable service at all collection and delivery points.

What We’re Looking For
Essential Requirements:
- A valid UK HGV Class 1 (Category CE) licence
- An up-to-date Driver CPC qualification
- A Digital Tachograph card
Experience:
- Minimum 2 years of proven experience driving Class 1 vehicles. Previous experience operating Moving Floor or Walking Floor trailers is highly advantageous.
Knowledge:
- A solid understanding of UK driver compliance
- Working Time Directive (WTD) regulations
- Daily defect reporting
Attitude:
- A reliable, self-motivated approach
- Excellent communication skills
- A practical, customer-focused mindset
