Role Overview
We seek a professional, safety-focused, and reliable Class 1 HGV Driver / Shunter to support our distribution operations in Derby. The role involves delivering pharmaceuticals safely, efficiently, and on time, while supporting on-site shunting activities. You will ensure compliance with safety regulations, conduct vehicle checks, secure loads, and maintain accurate delivery documentation. Strong communication skills and a safety-first mindset are essential. Previous driving or shunting experience is desirable.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver goods safely, on time, and with excellent customer service.
- Support on-site shunting to ensure smooth distribution center operations.
- Maintain communication with the Transport Office regarding operational updates.
- Complete all transport documentation accurately.
- Conduct daily vehicle checks to ensure roadworthiness and compliance.
- Secure loads and adhere to legal and company safety standards.
- Follow road traffic laws, driver regulations, and company policies.
- Report incidents, defects, or safety concerns promptly.
- Uphold high standards of safety, compliance, and professionalism.

Qualifications & Skills
- Valid HGV Class 1 (C+E) Licence and Driver CPC Qualification.
- Digital Tachograph Card.
- Understanding of driver hours' regulations and transport legislation.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Commitment to safety and compliance.
- Previous Class 1 driving or shunting experience is a plus.
