Here at GXO, we are currently recruiting for HGV Class 1 Drivers to join our team at the Screwfix site in Lichfield.

You’ll be joining a busy and evolving transport operation, working for one of the UK’s leading logistics providers. In this role, you’ll help to ensure Screwfix trade counters across the country are fully stocked and ready to meet customers’ needs. From screws and power tools to lawn mowers and even kitchen sinks, you’ll play a vital role in keeping the supply chain moving.

This is a full-time, permanent position, predominantly working Monday to Friday (but flexibility for 5 days out of 7 required). You will be working 10-hour shifts.

Start Times are as follows: 12:00, 13:00, 14:00 & 15:00

We also offer overtime, providing £20.80 per hour!

We’re looking to offer a salary of £44,838.43 per annum plus unsocial premiums along with 31 days annual leave inclusive of bank holidays.

What you'll do on a typical day:

  • Collection and delivery of small to large high-value consignments that require special handling conditions to Screwfix stores
  • Consistently ensure customer expectations are met
  • Ensure all documentation is completed and returned accurately at the end of each shift
  • Adhere to specific time restrictions given under current legislation
  • Driving activities will generally consist of inter-site and intra-site deliveries, supplier collections around the UK

What you need to be successful at GXO:

  • Must have a valid Class 1 licence with a full CPC qualification
  • Must hold Digital tachograph card
  • Must not have more than 7 points on licence
  • Strong communication skills, particularly verbal, to develop good working relationships with colleagues and customers
  • Experience of multi drop collection and deliveries together with experience of working in a warehouse environment will be an advantage, although full training will be provided
