HGV Class 1 Driver
£20.17 per hour | Monday to Sunday | 16:00 Starts | Ongoing | Local Deliveries
Pure Staff's Driving Team is currently recruiting HGV Class 1 Drivers for our client based in Bristol. This role involves completing local deliveries of palatalised and boxed aggregates to builder's merchants, offering consistent night shifts from Monday through to Sunday.
Drivers will start at 16:00, with shifts typically finishing between 04:00 and 06:00, depending on the route and delivery schedule. You will be operating a modern Class 1 articulated flatbed vehicle with cage sides, completing around three deliveries per shift.
As part of the role, drivers will be responsible for strapping and securing loads to ensure safe transportation. Previous experience with flatbed vehicles and knowledge of load restraint procedures would be highly advantageous. This is an excellent opportunity for professional drivers looking for regular, ongoing night work with a well-established client.
Rates for an HGV Class 1 Driver
- Monday to Friday Days: £18.00 per hour (+ accrued holiday pay) or £20.17 per hour (including holiday)
- Saturday (occasional / optional): £19.00 per hour (+ accrued holiday pay) or £21.29 per hour (including holiday)
- Sunday / Bank Holiday (occasional / optional): £20.00 per hour (+accrued holiday pay) or £22.41 per hour (including holiday)

Your Typical Working Day
- Monday to Sunday work
- Start times from 16:00
- Shifts typically lasting 10 to 12 hours
- Approximately 3 local deliveries per day
- Delivering palatalised and boxed aggregate to builder's merchants
- Driving an Arctic flatbed with cage sides
- Collecting loads from the aggregate site in Harlow
- Generally returning to site following each delivery to reload
- Strapping and safely securing loads before departure
- Some waiting and loading time can be expected
- Modern vehicle fleet including digital mirror vehicles

What We're Looking For
To be considered for this HGV Class 1 Driver position you will need:
- A valid UK Category C+E (Class 1) Licence
- A valid Digital Tachograph Card
- A valid Driver CPC / DQC
- A minimum of 12 month's HGV Class 1 driving experience
- No more than 6 penalty points on your licence
- Confidence securing and strapping loads
- Good understanding of Driver's Hours and Working Time regulations
- A professional, reliable and safety-conscious attitude
Previous flatbed, builder's merchant, aggregate or load-strapping experience would be advantageous.
