Role Overview
We seek a Class 1 HGV Driver / Shunter to deliver pharmaceutical products safely, efficiently, and on time. The role involves supporting on-site shunting operations, maintaining safety standards, and ensuring compliance with transport legislation. Working from our Derby distribution centre, you will handle timely deliveries, complete accurate documentation, conduct vehicle checks, and secure loads according to legal and company requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver goods safely and provide excellent customer service.
- Support on-site shunting to facilitate smooth distribution center operations.
- Maintain communication with the Transport Office regarding operational updates.
- Complete delivery documentation accurately.
- Perform daily vehicle checks to ensure roadworthiness and compliance.
- Secure loads and transport them safely, adhering to legal standards.
- Follow road traffic laws and company policies diligently.
- Report incidents, safety concerns, or vehicle issues immediately.
- Uphold high safety, compliance, and professionalism standards.

Qualifications & Skills
- Valid HGV Class 1 (C+E) Licence and Driver CPC Qualification.
- Digital Tachograph Card and understanding of driver hours regulations.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- Safety-first mindset and commitment to compliance.
- Previous driving and shunting experience is desirable.
