What are we looking for:
We are expanding and looking to expand our team of HGV Class 1 (Cement Tanker) drivers.
- An enthusiastic, positive, confident and committed driver who learns quickly and is happy working under pressure in a busy team environment.
- Must hold a valid HGV Class 1 (Category C+E).
- Must have an in-date Driver Tachograph Card and Driver Qualification Card (CPC).
- Previous experience operating tanker vehicles, preferably cement or bulk powder tankers, is desirable.
- Needs strong communication skills, a willingness to take instruction, be cooperative and flexible and confident enough to ask for help where needed.
- Ability to work safely with hazardous or dusty products, following site-specific and industry health & safety procedures.
Job Description:
- HGV Class 1 Cement Tanker Driver to operate the vehicle in a safe and professional manner, delivering bulk cement and related products to our customers and providing excellent customer service.
- Safe vehicle loading and safe operation of pneumatic/offload equipment and unloading of cement/bulk powder products.
- Conduct daily walk-round checks of the vehicle and record any defects.
- Use driver defect app, electronic POD, tachograph and Sat Nav systems accurately.
- Maintain accuracy and attention to detail when completing delivery paperwork and job records.
- Carry out deliveries in a timely and safe manner and represent SRC Group professionally with a clean, smart appearance.
- Drive safely, minimising vehicle damage and reporting any incidents or accidents promptly.
- Work in accordance with the law, the Highway Code, environmental requirements and adhere to all company procedures, standards and policies.
- Operate a digital tachograph and have a clear understanding of tachograph and working time legislation.
- Keep the vehicle clean inside and out; remove contaminants from the vehicle body as required and ensure tanker cleanliness to industry standards.
- Follow site access and permit-to-work procedures when attending customer or third-party sites.
- Perform any other duty required by the company including:
- Be flexible to jump onto our Concrete Mixer Lorries when needed to help cover work.
