Metcalfe Plant Hire Limited was established in 1971 in Cumbria and has grown to become one of the North of England’s largest construction plant hire businesses. Based in Penrith Cumbria, the company offers all construction industry plant, equipment and machinery hire, and compliments this with a construction & civil engineering business in its main-stream business operations.
The Role
Due to increasing commitments and expanding fleet, we now have an opportunity for a HGV Class 1 Driver / HIAB Operator who is looking to progress their career and to join our dedicated team based in Penrith, Cumbria.

What we are ideally looking for
An individual who can:
- Transport equipment from site to site
- Ensure that agreed quality control procedures are correctly and fully understood and implemented.
- Ensure correct and safe lifting practices are followed as per approved method statements.
- Ensure all relevant lift plans and certificates are in place and up to date.
- Be capable of being hands on.
- Ability to work in a team.
- Remain calm under pressure
- Dedicated Wagon
- Must have pride in his truck & appearance.

Experience
- Driving: 2 years (preferred but not essential)
Licence/Certification
- HGV Class 1
- Driver CPC (preferred)
Salary
Competitive and commensurate with experience
