Role Overview
We are seeking a Class 1 HGV Driver / Shunter to support our Derby distribution center. The successful candidate will ensure the safe, efficient, and timely delivery of pharmaceutical products, supporting on-site shunting operations. This role involves maintaining vehicle safety, completing accurate documentation, and adhering to all transport regulations and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver goods safely, punctually, and with excellent customer service.
- Perform on-site shunting to facilitate distribution center operations.
- Communicate regularly with the Transport Office regarding operational matters.
- Complete delivery paperwork accurately, including proof of delivery.
- Conduct daily vehicle checks, ensuring roadworthiness and compliance.
- Secure loads appropriately for safe transportation.
- Follow all road traffic laws, driver regulations, and company policies.
- Report incidents, defects, or safety concerns immediately.
- Maintain high standards of safety, compliance, and professionalism.

Qualifications & Skills
- Valid HGV Class 1 (C+E) Licence and Driver CPC Qualification.
- Digital Tachograph Card and good understanding of driver hours regulations.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- Safety-first mindset with a commitment to compliance.
- Previous Class 1 driving/shunting experience is preferred.
