Job Description
We’re looking for professional HGV Class 1 Drivers to join our Fowler Welch team in Teynham supporting our Chilled operation and delivering to key retail customers across the UK.
This is a permanent role offering full-time stability for HGV Class 1 drivers who will be responsible for RDC, Farms, and Packhouse deliveries. This role is ideal for a HGV driver who takes pride in safe driving, excellent customer service, and dependable delivery standards. You’ll be joining a supportive transport team where safe driving, reliable service, and high professional standards are valued every day.
Shift Patterns Available
- Sun - Weds (02:00, 17:00, and 22:00 Starts)
- Thurs to Sat (17:00, 20:00 Starts)
- Thurs to Sun (22:00 Start)
- Sun to Weds (17:00, 22:00 Starts)
- Tues, Thurs, Fri, and Sat (02:00 Start)
- Mon, Thurs, Fri, and Sat (06:00, 14:00 Start)
- Weekend Drivers

Salary
Pay rates range from £15.84 - £25.41 per hour depending on shift, plus opportunity for overtime and subsistence allowance.
What you'll be doing
- Carry out safe, professional deliveries to customer premises across the UK.
- Complete nationwide deliveries of palletised goods to Regional Distribution Centres, Farms, and Packhouses.
- Report to the Transport team at the start of each shift and keep them updated on delays, delivery issues, or load discrepancies.
- Complete all paperwork accurately and ensure PODs are signed and returned to the Transport Office.
- Follow company procedures, including health, safety, and hygiene standards.
- Manage your working time in line with the Road Transport Directive and tachograph rules.
- Complete daily vehicle checks and report defects correctly and take responsibility for your unit and trailer, including temperature checks where required.
- Maintain a professional standard of behaviour, appearance, and customer service at all times.

Qualifications
- Valid C+E Licence.
- Current valid DCPC and Digital Tachograph cards.
- Minimum 6 months’ HGV Class 1 driving experience preferred.
- Newly qualified drivers will be considered if you show the right attitude and willingness to learn.
- No more than 6 points on your licence, with no DD or DR code convictions.
- Good understanding of Drivers’ Hours and Working Time Directive legislation.
- Ability to complete vehicle checks and report defects correctly.
- Commitment to on-site health and safety requirements.
- Excellent communication skills and a professional approach.
