HGV Class 1 Driver / Workshop Assistant
Ford and Slater are one of the UK’s largest DAF Truck dealers group with 16 locations from Norwich to Birtley in the North East, employing over 900 staff whilst remaining a family run business. We currently have a vacancy for an HGV Class 1 Driver (Collection and Delivery) in the fantastic team at our DAF Trucks dealership in Leicester.

The HGV Class 1 Driver / Workshop Assistant responsibilities include (but not limited to):
- This is a duel role - Collection / delivery of vehicles from / to customers within Leicestershire and the surrounding areas. Ad hoc longer journeys to other Ford & Slater dealerships.
- Occasional road testing of vehicles (subject to licence restrictions).
- Steam cleaning Trucks.
- General Workshop caretaker duties when not driving.
Who are we looking for as our HGV Class 1 Driver / Workshop Assistant:
- You must hold a valid UK Class 1 licence (ideally clean).
- Be a customer focused individual with excellent communication skills.
- Any mechanical knowledge would be an advantage but not essential.
- PC Literate.
Shift pattern:
- Alternate weeks, Monday to Friday, 08:00 – 16:30 / 10:30 – 19:00 (with a 30 minute unpaid break each shift)
