Career Opportunity: Class 2 Tipper Driver

CareerMakers Recruitment are currently recruiting experienced Class 2 Tipper Drivers for an ongoing position with our well-established client based in Irlam.

If you have muck-away experience and are looking for regular Monday to Friday work with competitive PAYE rates and no handballing, this could be the role for you.

Job Details

  • Location: Irlam
  • Position: Class 2 Tipper Driver
  • Pay: £14.35 - £16.08 per hour PAYE, depending on experience
  • Umbrella: £17.00 per hour
  • Days: Monday to Friday
  • Weekends: Off
  • Work: Ongoing, with long-term potential
  • Manual Handling: None
  • Experience: Muck-away experience essential

The Role

You will be operating a Class 2 tipper truck transporting materials such as aggregates, sand and gravel to various sites.

This is a no-handball role, with loading and unloading carried out using the vehicle's tipping mechanism.

Your duties will include:

  • Operating a Class 2 tipper vehicle safely and efficiently
  • Transporting materials to designated sites
  • Loading and unloading using the vehicle's tipping mechanism
  • Completing deliveries safely and on time
  • Carrying out daily pre-trip and post-trip vehicle checks
  • Reporting any vehicle defects
  • Communicating with the transport team regarding routes and updates
  • Maintaining accurate delivery and vehicle records
  • Following all road transport legislation and company procedures

Requirements

  • Muck-away experience is essential
  • Valid UK Class 2 (Category C) licence
  • Minimum 2 years' Class 2 driving experience for insurance purposes
  • Valid Driver CPC Qualification Card
  • Valid Digital Tachograph Card
  • Maximum 6 penalty points
  • No major driving convictions
  • Good knowledge of UK road networks and driving regulations
  • Professional and punctual approach
  • Strong focus on safety
