This is a full-time, on-site HGV Class 2 Box Wagon Tramper Driver role based in Stockport. The driver will be responsible for safely operating a Class 2 box wagon to collect hazardous waste and service parts washers and spray gun cleaners across scheduled national routes.
Day-to-Day Tasks
- Performing vehicle safety checks
- Loading and securing waste containers
- Completing all required environmental and transport documentation using handheld devices
- Adhering to ADR and company safety procedures
Role Responsibilities
- Working to a structured four-week collection schedule
- Communicating with the transport office and customers
- Ensuring timely, professional service at each site
- Occasional nights out and flexible working patterns may be required to meet route and customer needs
Qualifications
- Valid HGV Class 2 (Category C) license, Driver CPC, and digital tachograph card; clean or acceptable driving record.
- ADR certification for the carriage of hazardous goods and strong understanding of relevant transport and safety regulations.
- Experience in professional driving roles, preferably in waste management, industrial services, or similar sectors.
- Ability to manage manual handling tasks, safely load and secure waste containers, and carry out daily vehicle checks.
- Competence in using handheld devices or onboard systems to complete electronic paperwork and follow route instructions.
- Strong time management, reliability, and attention to detail, with a focus on compliance and customer service.
- Good communication skills and the ability to work independently while maintaining effective contact with the operations team.
- Willingness to undertake nights out and flexible working hours as required by national routes and customer demands.
