PROMAN Recruitment is currently seeking an experienced and reliable HGV Class 2 Driver to join a major project in Leiston, Suffolk. This is an excellent opportunity for a dedicated driver looking for long-term work on a high-profile construction site.
HGV Class 2 Driver (14T) Wanted
Location: Leiston, Suffolk
Pay Rate: £20.00 per hour (UTR)
Start Date: Early September 2026
Working Hours:
- 7:00am to 6:00pm, with overtime available
- Tuesday to Saturday
- Potential to work Tuesday to Sunday
Overtimes:
- After 6pm: 1.3x
- Saturday: 1.5x
- Sunday: 2.0x
Key Responsibilities
- Safely operate a 14T HGV Class 2 vehicle on site
- Carry out daily vehicle inspections and basic maintenance checks
- Complete vehicle logs and relevant documentation accurately
- Communicate professionally with site personnel
- Assist with loading and unloading when required
- Follow all health & safety procedures at all times
- Report any incidents, defects, or accidents promptly

Requirements
- Valid Category C (Class 2) Driving Licence
- ALLMI licence/certification for the crane attachment, likely Hook – below 20t (Accredited with CSCS)
- Proven experience driving HGV vehicles within a construction environment
- Fewer than 5 penalty points preferred
Mechanical background advantageous (basic daily maintenance)
Vehicle remains on-site only (no public road driving)
Must be able to pass the mayor project vetting process (clearance checks)
Additional Information
- The security vetting process can take several weeks to complete, depending on how quickly candidates provide the required information.
