About the role:

Are you an experienced HGV / Construction Plant Fitter looking for your next challenge? We have a unique opportunity to work on a own modern fleet of HGVs and construction vehicles. You will be equipped with the tools and support you need to build a long-term career within a growing plant hire and earthworks company.

As a HGV & Construction Plant Fitter, you will play a critical role in maintaining a fleet of HGVs and construction equipment. Based in their Hickling Workshops, you’ll also undertake mobile duties to service vehicles and plant equipment across the East and West Midlands.

You’ll be a key part of ensuring the fleet runs smoothly, keeping operations efficient and reliable.

Key responsibilities:

  • Carry out regular maintenance and servicing of HGVs and construction vehicles.
  • Diagnose and repair mechanical issues quickly and effectively.
  • Perform scheduled inspections, identify worn or faulty parts, and make necessary replacements.
  • Maintain an inventory of spare parts and tools.
  • Ensure all work complies with health and safety regulations, conducting risk assessments when necessary.
  • Keep accurate maintenance records, detailing parts used, time spent, and any issues encountered.
  • Provide technical advice and support to colleagues as needed.
  • Work closely with other teams to ensure smooth coordination of maintenance activities.

Requirements:

The ideal candidate will be an enthusiastic individual with a desire to learn and grow within a highly reputable company. Your experience in maintaining and repairing HGVs, Sweepers & construction plant will help you to hit the ground running. However, you will be fully supported in the role and training will be provided to support your development.

You will have the following qualifications and skills:

  • Relevant qualifications in mechanical engineering or a related field
  • Full driving license and willingness to travel to various locations as required
  • Knowledge of health and safety regulations and risk assessment procedures
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
  • Ability to work independently and manage workload effectively
