Job Description:
Position Title: HGV Driver
Reporting To: Dispatch Co-ordinator
Location: Ballymoney
Hours of work: 39 Hours, Mon - Thurs
Reporting to the Dispatch Co-ordinator at the Ballymoney site, the successful candidate will be responsible for vehicle driving, both lorries and forklift trucks, delivering goods to Terex facilities & customers.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
- Loading and Unloading of vehicles so that products are safely loaded and secured to minimise chances of damage
- Check goods off with Customers and obtain signature and print.
- Provide excellent customer service.
- Handle customer issues on delivery effectively
- Carry out multi-drop deliveries in a timely and safe manner.
- Drive the vehicle safely and in accordance with the law.
- Drive within the tachograph law and driver hours limits.
- Look after the vehicle and ensure that it is not subjected to unnecessary damage.
- Maintain the cleanliness of the driving cab.
- Operation of all forklift trucks and delivery of materials safely throughout the site.
- To operate the crane (if applicable) safely and in accordance with the correct procedures
- Comply with fuel directives.
- Ensure any accidents or damage to Company or third party property is actioned in accordance with company procedures.
- Complete vehicle daily inspection sheet
- Be aware of the vehicle inspection rota for servicing and MOT and bring to the Departments attention if necessary.
- Attend essential training in order to carry out the driver role.
- To provide support in the Yard as and when required and any other reasonable duty.
- Adhere to all company policies and procedures, to include Health and Safety Policy.
Qualifications & Experience:
Essential
- HGV Class 1 Driving License.
- Mathematics & English GCSE - Grade C or above or relevant qualification.
- Must possess an up to date Driver qualification Card (CPC Card).
- Have at least 2 years driving experience.
- Have experience transporting heavy plant and machinery and multi-drop deliveries.
- The ideal candidate will be a good communicator, be able to use own initiative and work as part of a team.
- They will be able to take on new challenges and will be keen to learn new skills and responsibilities in all aspects of the business.
- Candidates should be aware that this role will entail heavy Manual Labour.
- Must be reliable and have a good timekeeping and attendance record. Must be flexible and available to work overtime as and when required, this may include alternative shift work.

Desirable
- CSR Card or other relevant health & safety qualification.
- Have at least 2 years fork lift truck driving experience.
