Department
Tankering North forms a key part of Lanes Group's wastewater and environmental services offering, providing specialist liquid waste management, tankering, jet-vac, and emergency response services across Northern England and Scotland. Operating from strategically located depots within the wider Lanes network, the division supports utility companies, industrial customers, local authorities, facilities management providers, and commercial businesses with both planned and reactive services.
The team utilises a fleet of high-performance vacuum tankers and jet vac units capable of handling hazardous and non-hazardous liquid waste, sludge, slurry, floodwater, and wastewater. Services range from routine tank emptying and interceptor cleaning through to large-scale emergency spill response and flood relief operations, delivered on a 24/7, 365-day basis.

Responsibilities
- You will be working independently operating our high specification tankering vacuumation units.
- Work projects will include any drainage related issues.
- You will be working closely in a team of 2 operating high specification jetting and vacuumation units.
- Operate high-pressure water jetting equipment to clean and clear blockages in drains, sewers, pipes, and other wastewater systems.
- Move treated and untreated waste products, assisting with remedial works.
- Liaise with customers.
- Update electronic records.
- Ensure safety issues are reported.
- Perform vehicle and jetting equipment checks.

Requirements
- Competent in using an electronic device - laptop / tablet for data entry.
- Physical fitness and lots of energy.
- Ideally, a driving licence with no more than 4 points.
- Industry-related qualifications such as NRSWA and Confined Space (desirable).
- A CPC is required for this role.
- Previous experience with vacuumation tankering works would be highly advantageous.
