HGV Driver
Location: Wick Lane, London
Hours: 06:30 – 15:30, Monday to Friday
Job Introduction
At Riney, we play a vital role in delivering infrastructure, highways and construction projects across London. We're looking for a professional and safety-focused HGV Driver to join our Plant & Transport team and help keep our operations moving safely and efficiently. Based from our Wick Lane depot, you'll be responsible for transporting plant, materials, equipment and machinery to sites across the business while maintaining the highest standards of safety, compliance and customer service.
This is a varied role that offers more than just driving. You'll become a key member of a supportive team, working closely with operational and workshop colleagues, supporting fleet activities and contributing to the ongoing success of a busy and growing business.
What You'll Be Doing
- Safely operating HGV vehicles in line with road traffic legislation, DVSA requirements and company standards
- Delivering and collecting construction materials, plant, equipment, machinery and waste materials across company sites, depots and supplier locations
- Carrying out daily vehicle inspections, reporting defects and ensuring vehicles remain roadworthy and compliant
- Planning routes efficiently and completing transport documentation and digital records accurately
- Ensuring compliance with Drivers' Hours Regulations, tachograph legislation and transport compliance requirements
- Supporting wider business operations through flexible working across different vehicle types, contracts and operational requirements
- Assisting the Plant & Transport team by moving vehicles, plant and equipment between sites, workshops and testing facilities
- Using the Syrinx 365 fleet management system and Driver App to maintain accurate driver and compliance records
- Completing mandatory FORS training and promoting best practice in road safety, fuel efficiency and environmental performance
- Representing Riney professionally when interacting with customers, suppliers, site teams and members of the public

What We Are Looking For
We're seeking a reliable and conscientious driver who takes pride in delivering a first-class service while maintaining the highest standards of safety and compliance.
You'll ideally have:
- A full UK Driving Licence
- A valid HGV Class 1 (Category C+E) and/or Class 2 (Category C) Licence
- A valid Driver CPC Qualification Card and Digital Tachograph Card
- Experience operating HGV vehicles within construction, highways, infrastructure or a similar environment
- A strong commitment to health, safety and compliance
- Good communication, organisation and teamwork skills
- Basic IT skills and confidence using digital systems and mobile applications
- The flexibility to adapt to changing operational priorities and support the wider business when needed
It would be advantageous if you also hold a HIAB qualification, have experience transporting plant and machinery, possess construction-related certifications such as MPQC or CSCS, or have previous experience with FORS training and fleet management systems.
