HGV Driver

Hourly Rate – £16.78 per hour
Hours – 39 hours per week
Location & Postcode – Gosport, PO12 3RY

As an HGV Driver at FCC Environment, you will carry out driving and operational duties in support of contract requirements, ensuring all work is completed safely, efficiently and to the highest standard. You will be responsible for vehicle checks, route completion, maintaining equipment, and providing excellent service while adhering to all health, safety and environmental standards.

This vacancy is for a full-time position, working five days a week.

What will you be doing?

  • Carrying out daily vehicle checks before commencing work
  • Driving company vehicles safely, lawfully and efficiently
  • Ensuring vehicles are not overloaded and comply with legal requirements
  • Following all company safety procedures and wearing appropriate PPE
  • Reporting vehicle defects and operational issues promptly to the Supervisor
  • Completing assigned routes and work schedules efficiently
  • Maintaining vehicles and equipment to the required standard
  • Reporting any uncompleted work and providing reasons where necessary
  • Participating in relevant training and health monitoring programmes
  • Performing duties in a courteous, professional and efficient manner
  • Undertaking operative duties as required
  • Supporting FCC Environment's commitment to health, safety and environmental excellence

What are we looking for?

  • Full driving licence with no more than 6 active penalty points
  • Ability to successfully complete an in-house driver assessment
  • Good knowledge of safe driving practices and road traffic legislation
  • Ability to navigate routes effectively and complete rounds safely
  • Willingness to complete all required training and competency modules
  • Strong communication skills
  • Honest, reliable and trustworthy attitude
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
  • Positive approach to safety, compliance and customer service
