About the Role
We are recruiting an HGV Driver to join our supportive network of professional drivers, covering our Whitburn Operation Centre and the surrounding area.
Responsibilities
- Loading, collecting, and delivering predominantly accident-damaged vehicles of all shapes, sizes, and conditions on our salvage transporters.
- Carrying out internal and external checks on trucks and equipment and reporting any defects, photographing any damage, and inspecting all collected and delivered vehicles.
- Complying with legal and company requirements of a professional driver and operating the vehicle and loading equipment in a safe and efficient manner, following all H&S policies and procedures.
Requirements
- HGV Licence Class 1 or Class 2
- Current CPC
- A good understanding of the EC Drivers Hours and Working Time regulations
- Driving experience in both rural and urban environments
- Great communication skills, both written and verbal
- Excellent customer service skills
- Flexibility
- Strong attention to detail
- Confident in the use of handheld devices, with experience in the use of basic IT applications
- Adaptable, with the ability to organise and adjust your working day
- Car transportation or recovery experience would be an advantage, but isn’t essential

Working Conditions
- Working from Monday to Friday with no bank holiday working
- Required to work overnight in some cases
- Highland bonus per day and an overnight allowance
Training and Development
- Supported through 3 weeks of the very best job-related 1-2-1 training

- Opportunity to up-skill to C+E after successful completion of your probationary period if you have a Cat C licence
Compensation
- A reasonable salary expectation would be approximately £51,000 OTE per annum (inclusive of additional allowances)
