Role Overview
We seek a Class 1 HGV Driver/Shunter to ensure the safe, efficient, and timely transportation of pharmaceutical products from our Derby distribution centre. You will support on-site shunting operations and deliver goods while maintaining high safety and compliance standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver goods safely, efficiently, and on time, providing excellent customer service.
- Perform on-site shunting to facilitate smooth distribution centre operations.
- Communicate regularly with the Transport Office about operational issues or delays.
- Accurately complete all transport documentation, including proof of delivery.
- Conduct daily vehicle checks, ensuring vehicles are roadworthy, clean, and compliant.
- Secure loads properly and adhere to legal and company regulations during transport.
- Follow all traffic laws, driver regulations, and safety policies.
- Report incidents, vehicle defects, safety concerns, or temperature excursions immediately.
- Maintain professionalism, safety, and compliance at all times.

Qualifications & Skills
- Valid HGV Class 1 (C+E) Licence and Driver CPC Qualification.
- Digital Tachograph Card holder.
- Understanding of driver hours and transport legislation.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- Safety-first approach and commitment to compliance.
- Previous Class 1 driving or shunting experience is desirable.
