WPRG Ltd is currently recruiting experienced HGV Class 2 (Category C) Drivers for an excellent ongoing opportunity with a leading steel distributor based in Thurrock, Essex.
This is a fantastic role for a professional HGV driver looking for regular Monday to Friday work, competitive pay and a position where all loading and unloading is completed by forklift or crane meaning no manual lifting of steel products.

The Role
As an HGV Class 2 Driver, you will be responsible for transporting steel products safely and efficiently using flatbed trailers.
Your duties will include:
- Delivering steel products including sheet metal, rods and girders
- Completing approximately 510 deliveries per day
- Driving flatbed vehicles
- Securing loads using straps and chains
- Carrying out vehicle checks and completing delivery paperwork
- Following all health and safety procedures
- Working alongside professional steel distribution teams
- Ensuring deliveries are completed safely and on time
Shift Details
- Monday to Friday
- Start times between 05:30 and 06:00
- Minimum 10.5 hours paid per shift
- Overtime paid after 10.5 hours
- Regular ongoing shifts available
- Drug and alcohol testing required before starting
Pay Rates
Basic Rate
- £18.00 per hour
- £20.17 per hour including holiday pay
Overtime (After 10.5 Hours)

What We're Looking For
To be considered for this HGV Class 2 Driver role, you will need:
- Valid UK HGV Class 2 (Category C) Licence
- Minimum 12 months' HGV Class 2 driving experience
- Valid Driver CPC qualification
- Valid Digital Tachograph Card
- Maximum of 6 penalty points on licence
- Experience securing loads with straps and chains is preferred
- Strong understanding of load safety and transport regulations
- Reliable, punctual and professional attitude
