Job Description

SAGA Truck & Van is the leading Mercedes-Benz distributor in the United Kingdom, with a network of ten dealerships across Kent, Essex, Hertfordshire, and East England, employing over five hundred staff.

The SAGA Mercedes-Benz Story

The journey began in 1971 in western France, initially focused solely on commercial vehicles. Over the years, car and utility vehicle operations were added, and dealerships multiplied—first regionally until 2013, then nationally, before expanding internationally in 2019. In 2024, SAGA Mercedes-Benz expanded to England with the acquisition of 10 dealerships, previously owned by Sparshatt Truck and Van and Motus Truck & Van. Today, SAGA has an international presence (in France, Belgium, England, Switzerland, Liechtenstein, and the Czech Republic) and represents 70% of the RCM group’s revenue.

Main Responsibilities

This role is responsible for the safe and efficient movement, control and coordination of commercial vehicles across the Mercedes-Benz, SAGA Truck & Van dealership. You will play a key part in keeping the workshop and yard operating smoothly, ensuring vehicles are correctly positioned, checked in and out, and available when required. The role also involves regular customer contact, so a professional and helpful approach is essential.

  • Safely manoeuvre and position HGVs and commercial vehicles around the dealership, yard and workshop, particularly during busy periods.
  • Carry out vehicle and trailer safety checks in line with company procedures and health and safety requirements.
  • Accurately sign vehicles in and out of the dealership, maintaining clear and up-to-date records.
  • Collect and return customer vehicles, including transporting vehicles to and from MOT and other authorised test centres.
  • Coordinate the parking, storage and movement of vehicles across the dealership premises to maximise available space and maintain an efficient workflow.
  • Work closely with Service Reception, Workshop Controllers, Technicians and other dealership departments to ensure vehicles are available at the right place and time.
  • Provide a professional and courteous service when dealing with customers, representing the Mercedes-Benz brand and SAGA Truck & Van dealership to a high standard.
  • Ensure all vehicle movements are carried out safely and responsibly, with due consideration for colleagues, customers, pedestrians and other vehicles.
  • Maintain a clean, organised and safe working environment across the yard and vehicle storage areas.
  • Follow all dealership policies, procedures and legal requirements relating to health and safety, vehicle handling and site operations.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

RCM

SAGA Truck & Van is part of the French RCM group, created and led since 1999 by Ronan Chabot. Strongly attached to its region and values, RCM expanded intensively—first regionally, then across France, before expanding internationally in 2019 with the SAGA Mercedes-Benz network and adding a new activity: boating. Today, the group remains a French family business with a global outlook, distributing iconic brands such as Mercedes-Benz, Toyota, Lexus, Porsche, Beneteau, Azimut, Galeon, and Highfield internationally (in France, Belgium, Switzerland, Liechtenstein, England, and the Czech Republic). Our values have remained the same since day one: Passion, Performance, and Respect. In 2018, RCM was named France’s Distributor of the Year, and in 2021 won the Family Saga award at the French Automotive Distribution Grand Prix.
