Job Title: General Haulage Drivers

Location: Grangemouth

Salary: GBP15.30 per hour : GBP16.83 per hour dependent upon skills and experience

Job Type: Permanent, Full-time or part-time hours (plus relief/cover) are available

Shift Patterns: We offer a variety of shift patterns: day shift, night shift, nights out, 4 on/4 off and 4 on/2 off, ad-hoc, on full or part-time contracts.

About The Role

We are currently recruiting for HGV Drivers. This is a great opportunity for drivers who enjoy working for a prestigious logistics company, driving a modern and well-maintained fleet of vehicles and who are looking for flexibility in their life.

Key Responsibilities

  • To drive HGV1 vehicles with attachment trailers when necessary: attachments to include flatbeds, curtain siders, occasional drop-sided trailers, low loaders, tanker trailers, forestry pin trailers
  • To maintain and update training to drive artic and rigid vehicles to comply with company needs and legislation
  • To load with care, general cargo including forestry products, round wood, fertiliser, concrete products, steel and paper products and any other cargo required
  • To ensure safe and secure loading of cargo at commencement and throughout duration of the journey to off-loading cargo
  • To ensure safety of other employees and members of the public when travelling with cargo
  • To undertake to complete all necessary daily checks/records and proper use of tacho cards when carrying cargo on company business and complete relevant paperwork correctly

Locations:

We operate from several locations throughout the UK and have strategically positioned ourselves near to major cities, which allows quicker and easier access to customers and major transport routes. These include:

  • West Highland (Corpach/Fort William, Isle of Skye, Mallaig and Kishorn)
  • North Highland (Inverness and Invergordon)
  • Central Scotland (Grangemouth and Methil)
  • England (Carlisle)

Our current vacancies are based in Grangemouth.

About You

Key Requirements:

  • HGV Class 1 (CE) Licence
  • Driver Qualification Card
  • ADR licence would be an advantage, however this is not essential
  • Experience of Timber Haulage would be desirable for Forestry Crane Operator positions
  • You will be delivering to outdoor sites mainly so an aspect of the work will be outside in all weather conditions
  • Working as part of a team is a must so we are looking for someone who is eager to engage with others to get the task at hand done.
