WORKING HOURS: 7:00 am – 17:00 Monday to Friday
REPORTING TO: Workshop Manager
RESPONSIBLE FOR: None
MAIN PURPOSE/OBJECTIVES OF ROLE:
Our mission: -
The primary responsibilities of our HGV Technicians include providing routine maintenance and repairs to equipment and vehicles. This includes the inspection, servicing, maintenance, and repair of our fleet of HGVs, trailers, light commercial vehicles, and small vans.
You will play a key role in ensuring all vehicles remain safe, compliant, roadworthy, and operational at all times.
KEY DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Carry out routine servicing, maintenance, and defect repairs on HGVs, light commercial vehicles, trailers, and small vans
- Diagnose mechanical and electrical faults efficiently and safely
- Prepare vehicles for MOT inspections and ensure full compliance with legal and safety regulations
- Maintain accurate service, inspection, and repair records
- Support operational continuity through occasional out-of-hours call-outs when required
- Work both independently and collaboratively with the wider team
- Maintain safe working practices whilst undertaking your duties at all times
- To act in accordance with the company’s Health, Safety and Environmental policies, procedures, and practices highlighting any issues appropriately
- Work flexibly and be receptive and adaptable to a changing environment within a fast-expanding Company
- Undertake any other reasonable tasks as directed by management

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE:
- Proven experience as an HGV Technician or mechanic
- Relevant mechanical or vehicle maintenance qualifications
- Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Full UK driving licence
