Role Description
The HGV Fitter role at EasyMix Concrete UK LTD is a full-time, on-site position based in Croydon. The HGV Fitter is responsible for maintaining, servicing, and repairing the company’s fleet of heavy goods vehicles, including concrete mixers and related equipment, to ensure safe and reliable operation. Day-to-day tasks include fault diagnosis, routine inspections, scheduled servicing, and emergency repairs, as well as completing maintenance records and ensuring compliance with relevant safety and roadworthiness standards. The role involves working closely with drivers, operations, and management to minimise vehicle downtime and support efficient delivery schedules. The HGV Fitter is expected to keep the workshop organised, follow health and safety procedures, and contribute to continuous improvement of maintenance practices.

Qualifications

- Strong skills in HGV maintenance and repair, including diagnostics, servicing, and mechanical fault-finding on heavy goods vehicles.
- Experience working with commercial vehicle fleets, ideally including concrete mixers or similar specialist equipment.
- Solid understanding of vehicle safety, roadworthiness standards, and relevant regulations (e.g., DVSA requirements).
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, service schedules, and maintenance documentation accurately.
- Competence in using workshop tools, equipment, and diagnostic devices in a safe and controlled manner.
- Good organisational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritise tasks and meet maintenance deadlines.
- Effective communication skills for collaborating with drivers, supervisors, and other team members.
- Awareness of and commitment to health and safety practices in a workshop and operational environment.
- Relevant vocational qualification or apprenticeship in Heavy Vehicle Mechanics, Automotive Engineering, or a closely related field.
- Previous experience as an HGV Fitter, Mechanic, or Technician in a transport, construction, or logistics setting is highly beneficial.
