Role Description

The HGV Jetting Engineer is a full-time, on-site role based in Iver. This position involves operating HGV jetting vehicles to carry out drain and sewer cleaning, blockage removal, and general jetting services at customer sites. Day-to-day tasks include:

The role also includes:

  • Conducting basic vehicle and equipment checks
  • Reporting defects
  • Adhering to company and regulatory health and safety procedures

The HGV Jetting Engineer collaborates with the operations team, communicates clearly with customers on-site, and ensures work is completed efficiently and to agreed service standards.

Qualifications

  • Strong HGV driving skills, with a valid HGV license (e.g., Category C or equivalent) and a clean driving record.
  • Practical experience in jetting, drainage, or wet waste operations, including safe use of high-pressure water jetting equipment.
  • Solid knowledge of health, safety, and environmental practices relevant to waste management and on-site operations.
  • Good problem-solving and fault-finding abilities for dealing with blockages, drainage issues, and basic equipment troubleshooting.
  • Effective communication and teamwork skills to work safely with colleagues and interact professionally with customers.
  • Basic record-keeping and reporting skills to complete job sheets, compliance documents, and vehicle check logs accurately.
  • Relevant industry certifications (e.g., water jetting safety, confined space awareness) and prior experience in the waste, drainage, or utilities sector would be beneficial.
  • The ability to work flexible hours, including occasional overtime or call-outs, and a reliable approach to punctuality and attendance would be beneficial.
