This is a varied and hands-on role where you will oversee the day-to-day allocation of driving activities, support operational efficiency, and promote a strong safety-first culture. You will work closely with Warehouse Operations and the Transport Management Team, helping to ensure vehicles, trailers, and drivers remain compliant with company policies and legal requirements.

This role is based at our Avonmouth Estate and reports to the Group Transport Manager. The shift will be Monday to Friday 5:30am - 2:30pm

Key Accountabilities

  • Coordinate the shunter team to ensure trailers and loads are moved in line with business requirements.

  • Complete effective shift handovers with the evening team.
  • Support Transport Management in ensuring tractor units and trailers are available for MOTs, PMIs, and other planned maintenance.
  • Ensure vehicle defects are reported promptly and appropriate actions are taken.
  • Promote a strong safety culture, encouraging hazard spotting and near-miss reporting.
  • Ensure vehicles are maintained in a clean and presentable condition.
  • Monitor driver compliance with Operator Licence requirements and Driver CPC regulations.
  • Carry out all required vehicle and trailer checks in accordance with legal and company standards.
  • Safely and efficiently move trailers between sites, loading bays, and yard locations as required.
  • Maintain Health & Safety standards and safe systems of work at all times.
  • Ensure driver digital tachograph cards are downloaded in line with company procedures.
  • Support warehouse operations with container and trailer movements within yard areas.
  • Assess and support new drivers to ensure site operating standards and procedures are followed.
  • Demonstrate flexibility around start and finish times when required by operational needs.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
