Join Crown Oil's in-house workshop in Bury as an HGV Mechanic

Earn £23.50 per hour plus overtime, working Monday–Friday day shifts with a modern fleet and a fully company-funded pathway to your HGV Class 2 driving licence.

Crown Oil is seeking an experienced HGV Mechanic for their in-house workshop in Pilsworth, Bury, maintaining a modern fleet of rigids, trailers, and tankers.

What's on Offer

  • Pay & Earnings: £23.50 per hour (£54,990 basic), overtime at £35.25ph (1.5x), and a realistic OTE of £60,000–£65,000+.
  • Hours: 45 hours/week, Monday–Friday (day shifts, no nights), plus a minimum of two Saturday mornings per month (7 am–1 pm).
  • Fully Funded HGV Licence: No HGV driving licence? Crown Oil will fully support, organize, and fund your entire HGV Class 2 (Category C) qualification—covering your medical, theory, and practical training while you work.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carrying out HGV servicing, routine inspections, fault diagnostics, and repairs on rigids, trailers, and tankers.
  • Completing 6-weekly inspections and ensuring full compliance with DVSA and safety standards.
  • Maintaining accurate maintenance records and assisting with workshop stock/parts management.
  • Once qualified, assisting with moving fleet vehicles on-site and driving them to local MOT test centers.

Requirements

  • Proven background as an HGV Mechanic, Technician, or Fitter (Level 3 qualification or equivalent experience preferred).
  • Strong diagnostic capabilities and a safety-conscious work ethic.
  • Valid UK car driving licence. No prior HGV driving qualification is necessary—we will fully train you.
