Are you an experienced HGV Mechanic looking for a well-paid, stable role with day shifts and no nights?
Crown Oil is looking for an experienced HGV Mechanic to join our in-house workshop team at our Pilsworth depot in Bury. You’ll maintain and repair our own modern HGV fleet, including rigids, trailers and tankers, keeping our vehicles safe, compliant and road-ready.
What’s on offer
- £23.50 per hour – £54,990 basic annual salary
- Overtime paid at 1.5x – £35.25 per hour
- Realistic OTE of £60,000–£65,000+
- 45 hours per week, Monday to Friday
- Day shifts only – no nights
- Minimum 2 Saturday mornings per month (7am–1pm)
- Plenty of additional overtime available for those looking to boost their earnings

The role
As an HGV Mechanic, you’ll be responsible for maintaining our fleet to a high standard, including:
- HGV servicing, inspections, maintenance and repairs
- Working across rigids, trailers and tankers
- Diagnosing faults and carrying out repairs
- Preventative and scheduled maintenance
- Completing 6-weekly inspections
- Ensuring vehicles meet DVSA and safety standards
- Maintaining accurate vehicle and workshop maintenance records
- Supporting workshop stock control and parts management
What we’re looking for

- Previous experience as an HGV Technician, HGV Mechanic or HGV Fitter
- Valid Class 1 (C+E) or Class 2 (Category C) HGV driving licence – essential
- Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills
- Trailer experience, ideally including artics or tankers
- Level 3 HGV qualification or equivalent preferred
- A reliable, practical and safety-focused approach
