Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site HGV Mechanic role based in Littlehampton. The HGV Mechanic will carry out routine servicing, inspection, and maintenance of heavy goods vehicles and associated road marking equipment in line with company and regulatory standards. Day-to-day tasks include diagnosing mechanical and electrical faults, performing repairs, replacing parts, and ensuring vehicles and equipment are safe, compliant, and ready for operational use.

The role involves working closely with operations teams to minimize downtime, completing maintenance records accurately, and supporting scheduled and unscheduled repairs. The mechanic will also contribute to continuous improvement of workshop processes, maintain a clean and safe work environment, and follow all health and safety procedures.

Qualifications
- Strong skills in equipment maintenance and vehicle maintenance, with the ability to perform routine servicing and planned inspections.
- Proficiency in equipment repair and troubleshooting to identify faults and carry out effective repairs in a timely manner.
- Experience working with heavy equipment or HGVs, ideally within a construction, transport, or industrial environment.
- Relevant vocational qualifications or apprenticeship in motor vehicle engineering, HGV maintenance, or a similar discipline.
- Good understanding of health and safety practices, including safe workshop procedures and compliance with UK road vehicle regulations.
- Ability to interpret technical manuals and schematics, and use diagnostic tools and standard workshop equipment.
- Strong teamwork and communication skills, with the ability to coordinate with drivers and operations staff.
- Full UK driving licence; HGV licence and experience with road marking or construction fleets are beneficial.
