HGV Mechanic

Location: Worsley, Greater Manchester

Job Type: Full-time, Ongoing, Temp to Perm

Salary: £14.00 - £17.50 per hour (depending on experience)

About the Role

CareerMakers Recruitment is currently recruiting for an experienced HGV Mechanic on behalf of our client based in Worsley.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a well-established business offering ongoing work, competitive rates of pay and the opportunity to secure a permanent position.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out routine servicing, maintenance and repairs on HGV vehicles.
  • Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical faults.
  • Complete vehicle inspections and preventative maintenance.
  • Ensure all work is completed safely and to a high standard.
  • Maintain accurate service and repair records.
  • Minimise vehicle downtime through effective fault diagnosis and repairs.
  • Follow all company health and safety procedures.

Requirements

  • Previous experience working as an HGV Mechanic is essential.
  • Strong mechanical, electrical and diagnostic skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Time-served experience or a recognised qualification in HGV or Heavy Vehicle Maintenance is desirable.
  • Full UK driving licence preferred.

Pay Rates

  • £14.00 per hour: Minimum 1 year's HGV mechanic experience.
  • £15.50 per hour: 2 to 4 years' HGV mechanic experience.
  • £17.50 per hour: 5+ years' experience with advanced diagnostics and fault-finding skills.
