HGV Refuse and Recycling Driver – Lambeth (Full Time, 39 hours/week)
Location: SE24 0PZ
Salary: £40,183.48 per annum + excellent benefits
Hours & Working Days: Monday to Thursday, 6:00 AM – 2:30 PM Fridays, 6:00 AM – 1:30 PM Schedules include guaranteed weekend work and bank holiday cover.

Join our Lambeth team as an HGV Refuse and Recycling Driver and help maintain high standards in local waste management while delivering exceptional service. You’ll work with a professional, friendly team to collect waste and recycling from estates and commercial properties while serving as the public face of Serco within the community.
Key Responsibilities
- Complete pre-planned routes as part of a two-driver team, collecting waste from residential and commercial areas.
- Ensure vehicle safety checks are performed and your council-owned truck is road-safe before each round.
- Alternate driving duties with your colleague to stay active and support efficient workflow.
- Provide excellent customer service to local residents and businesses.

Person Specification
Essential Requirements
- Hold a valid Class 1 or 2 driving licence.
- Hold a valid Driver Certificate of Professional Competence (CPC).
- Be physically fit and healthy (due to the nature of the work).
- Be willing to alternate roles between driver and loader during shifts.
- Be happy to work as part of a team while demonstrating a friendly, professional attitude.
Desirable Skills
- Experienced in operating electronic tablets for logging daily tasks.
- Prepared to go above and beyond to meet team targets.
- Willingness to take on additional community-focused tasks.
