Adams Morey is looking for an experienced HGV Technician to join our busy workshop team at our Basingstoke, Whitney Road site.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a skilled technician to join a well-established commercial vehicle business, working as part of a supportive and professional team. You will be responsible for carrying out servicing, maintenance, diagnostics and repairs to a high standard, helping us keep our customers' vehicles safe, reliable and on the road.

Other duties may be required of the post holder in addition to those listed above and below, to ensure that the requirements of the business are met at all times.

Hours:

  • Monday to Friday, i.e. 40 hours per week, 30 minutes lunch break (unpaid)
  • Rotating Shifts, Week 1, 7.00 am to 3.30pm, Week 2, 3.30pm to 12.00am
  • 1 in 3 Saturdays, 6.00am to 12.00pm

Salary: Up to £22.00 per hour, dependent on experience and qualifications

Key Responsibilities:

  • Carrying out servicing, maintenance and repairs on HGVs and commercial vehicles.
  • Diagnosing and repairing mechanical and electrical faults.
  • Completing inspections and preventative maintenance.
  • Carrying out MOT preparation and rectification work.
  • Ensuring all work is completed safely, efficiently and to a high standard.
  • Completing job cards and relevant paperwork accurately.
  • Working closely with colleagues to ensure workshop targets and customer requirements are met.
  • Maintaining a clean, safe and organised working environment.

Ideally, we are looking for:

  • Previous experience as an HGV Technician or in a similar commercial vehicle role.
  • Relevant technical qualifications, such as NVQ Level 3 in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance and Repair.
  • Strong mechanical and diagnostic skills.
  • A good understanding of HGV systems and commercial vehicles.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • A professional, reliable and flexible approach to work.
  • A strong commitment to health and safety.
  • A valid HGV driving licence would be advantageous but is not essential.
